Faculty of Engineering and Materials Science (EMS)

"Technical Progress in the development of new products and technologies is based on the evolution and creation of new and innovative materials as well as the processing technology. Directing this research work towards application is extremely important and needs engineers with an excellent knowledge of materials science, strength of materials as well as production engineering.

The aim of the study program of Materials Science is to supply GUC students with an important knowledge that makes them the most qualified in this field.

We are looking for interested students who can demonstrate their ability to succeed and to produce outstanding results".

About

Progress in the development of new products and technologies is based on the evolution and creation of new materials and innovative designs as well as the processing technologies using the most advanced techniques including computer controlled machines and robotics.
Directing the study program towards application is extremely important which produces engineers with excellent knowledge in materials engineering, production engineering as well as Mechatronics engineering.

The aim of the study program of Engineering and Materials Science is to supply GUC students with the knowledge, skills and tools that make them the most qualified engineers in their fields.

The study program of the Engineering and Materials Science faculty covers a markedly diverse range of disciplines such as design, modeling and simulation of materials and processes, finite element method and software, strength of materials, manufacturing processes, materials testing, as well as corrosion and wear. It also covers a wide variety of advanced manufacturing technologies as well as industrial automation, control systems and robotics.

Programs Offered

Why studying

The Bachelor and Master programs in Engineering and Materials Science at GUC are based on a flexible course system that provides a career-based and practice-oriented education characterized by:

.: creating an international learning environment,
.: adopting the highest international standards in knowledge and education methods,
.: using innovative teaching concepts and techniques, and
.: collaborating applied projects for all topics

Due to the diversified education in engineering basics complemented by economics matters during the undergraduate period and the detailed graduate courses, the graduates will be well prepared for their chosen branches of profession and future career.

Career Opportunities

A degree in materials from GUC is an excellent qualification for those interested in careers as diverse as industry, research and commerce. While employment patterns change from year to year, the underlying trends within industry are placing even greater emphasis on the need to recruit highly qualified graduates with a degree in the materials field. The future is likely to offer rewarding and challenging opportunities for our graduates.

Most graduates select their careers in industry or with research establishments associated with one or more of the main subject areas including metals, alloys, ceramics, glass, plastic, rubber, fibre, composites and electrical materials.

The high-technology industries are increasingly looking for graduates with a wide appreciation of the field of materials, mechatronics and production. For many major companies, new and improved products are given a high priority.
