Diploma in Sustainable Environmental Engineering

 

Introduction:

The diploma’s objective is to be dedicated to environmental engineering technology and improvements that foster a sustainable future to improve the social, economic and environmental well-being of the community. The diploma fulfills its objectives through excellent world –class education, commitment to deliver and teach up-to date research techniques, and capacity building that will allow its holders to be in high leading positions in the market; as well, as giving the chance of further pursuing their master’s degree if they are interested.

Fields of study:

Sustainable environmental systems, renewable energy, green building, solid waste management and recycling, water treatment, environmental law and economics, space application in environmental engineering, air pollution, sustainable irrigation, global warming , nanotechnology, EIA, and AI in environmental engineering.

Employability:

The Program equips the students/its candidates with all needed skills to pursue future careers and assume leadership positions in the following fields: International organizations, National consulting offices, Research institutes, Research organizations and academic, Petroleum companies, Atomic and Radiology organizations, Multi-disciplinary companies with environmental sections, Environmental research fellow in universities, Consultancy firms working in environmental matters, and pursuing master in environmental engineering and sustainability.

Objectives & outcomes:

  • To apply the knowledge and understanding obtained, and problem solving abilities,; as well as, design methodology and techniques on environmental engineering systems of different natures.
  • To analyze and design sustainable environmental engineering systems concerning water, water treatment, air, renewable energy systems, green buildings, and solid waste.
  • To master the meaning and importance of sustainability.
  • To apply the during diploma acquired research skills in the environmental engineering field.
  • To apply the research skills acquired during the diploma in pursuing an environmental engineering master’s degree.
  • To establish a connection between the studied courses and the community service fields so as to make the studied material applicable to society.
  • To have a detailed idea about the implemented sustainable environmental engineering projects and strategies in Egypt.
  • To master how artificial intelligence is used in the different environmental engineering systems.

Eligible candidates: Candidates holding a BSC in any engineering background.

Language of Instruction: English

Duration of Study: One year (Two semesters)

Schedule: Two days per week (Evening & weekend times)

  • Attendance of 75% of the sessions is mandatory for issuing any certificate.

 

Admission Steps:

  • Applicants register online and fill in an admission application: https://www.guc.edu.eg/en/continuing_education/PostgraduateDiploma/study_programs.aspx .
  • Applicants that fulfill the admission criteria are invited via e-mail to take the GUC English admission test (GUC graduates are exempted from this test).
  • Applicants who are accepted are invited for a short interview.
  • Submission of requested documents on the day of the interview.

  • Installments system is offered for diploma tuition fees.
