The Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology (PBT) is a leading faculty in Egypt and the region, well known for outstanding academic research and teaching in Pharmacy and in Biotechnology. Graduates from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology enjoy an excellent reputation and find employment in academia, industry, healthcare and research institutions nationally and internationally. Lead by its friendly and competent staff, the PBT Faculty offers a comprehensive and modern education that equips students with all skills needed for their future career. The Faculty has well-equipped facilities, including student and research laboratories that provide all opportunities for top-level research and career development in Pharmacy and Biotechnology. Students at PBT have unique opportunities for cultural exchange and international academic exposure and research through direct interaction with Faculties from Germany and other European countries. A unique exchange program offers the chance to study one or more semesters at the GUC-Berlin campus.

The Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology is committed to provide high quality education according to international standards in the fields of pharmaceutical sciences and biotechnology through practice-oriented teaching as a cornerstone of education, enhancing the students’ skills necessary to practice the profession of Pharmacy and Biotechnology in any setting, advancing scientific knowledge through research, and serving the profession and the community. In agreement with the values, mission, and vision of the University, the Faculty strives to achieve excellence in teaching, research, public, and professional services and to be locally and globally recognized as a center of excellence, contributing to prosperity of the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industry and to the betterment of Public Health.


Study programs at the GUC are designed in alignment with the German Higher Education system. This facilitates exchange of students and recognition of learning with partner universities, and ensures an education of highest international level. Study programs are designed in cooperation with partner German Universities and program organization includes modular components and the European Credit Transfer & Accumulation System (ECTS) with average 30 credit points corresponding to one semester. Design of study programs follows the German Qualification Framework where both Pharmacy and Biotechnology Programs are accredited by ACQUIN.
The Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology at the GUC offers two undergraduate degrees :

Bachelor of Biotechnology (8 semesters):

PharmD in Pharmacy (10 semesters + Excellence Training Year):
