Seminar in Marketing (MRKT 820)

Description

The instructor will expose the students to the latest debatable ethical and social issues in the field of marketing through ten different seminars/topics. The seminar will revolve around the theme of Marketing Ethics, Social, and Non-Profit Marketing.The students will be divided into groups of 2 only. Each group will choose one of the articles posted on the intranet (first come first served!). Every week one group will be responsible for leading discussions on their assigned article which will take the whole class (90 minutes). The team will do THREE things:

  1. present the article
  2. research additional references if necessary to lead a debate)
  3. They will ALSO direct the flow of discussions and help in creating an interesting debate between the audience. The audience has to be divided into opponents and proponents. All students will have to read all the seminar articles as the grade is divided as follows: 60% on your own seminar and 40% in your participation in other students’ seminars.
