Course Prerequisites

Description

This course aims at providing students with basic knowledge of how financial markets and intermediaries operate; in addition, it shows how the efficiency of the financial system affects the performance of the aggregate economy as a whole. Topics to be covered include: the behavior of interest rates; the nature of money; the money multiplier; tools of the central bank in money supply creation and control; and general principles of bank management. A course in Money and Banking helps students formulate opinions about why financial crisis occur and what the consequences of such crisis on the aggregate economic activity are
