Description

The course deals with the Introduction to pharmaceutics and the art of dispensing, study of different types and therapeutic aspects of drug formulations (liquid, solid, semisolid), problems related to sterile dosage forms. Prescription, compounding the prescription, factors affecting dose, incompatibilities. Principles of Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Laboratory Practice. Preparation of major drug dosage forms (ointments, creams, suppositories, powders and granules, capsules and pills, liquid preparations, herbal drug preparations), testing for drug release.
