"Information Technology is one of the fastest progressing areas. It plays a key role in computer, communications and automation applications and is an enabling technology for the innovation of products and services. The study of Information Engineering and Technology enables graduates to master the basic concepts of Information Technology, to design new architectures and to apply them in the various application areas, such as communication systems and networks, production and process automation, automotive and traffic control, or integrated electronic circuit design".

Prof. Dr. Paul J. Kuehn
GUC Founding Dean, Faculty of Information Engineering and Technology

About

IET constitutes the key technology for the scientific and technical progress in many areas of human life. Utilizing the latest developments in electronics, the modern communication and network technologies provide a unique basis for the development of innovative applications, e.g., in telecommunications, automation, medical engineering or even in economics.

It is widely acknowledged that an engineering undergraduate education is a strong foundation for a successful career in many disciplines. The faculty has been careful to develop a forward-looking curriculum, taking into account the expertise and technologies required in the job markets of the future.

Programs Offered

Why studying

Studying IET at GUC, students will experience an international learning environment with the highest German standards. IET graduates will have solid practical and theoretical knowledge in the fundamentals of Information Engineering and Technology and advanced experience either in communications, networking or electronics that will qualify them for a wide range of successful career paths in the industry. In addition, graduates will have excellent opportunities to pursue their postgraduate studies and research at GUC, in Germany or Europe.

Career Opportunities

Graduates who earn the B.Sc. in Information Engineering and Technology will possess excellent opportunities in wide variety of technology such as, mobile communication systems, wireless networks, Cloud computing and Big data storage, Analog and digital electronics systems, and radio frequency engineering systems. They become responsible for designing, developing, testing as well supervising the production of telecommunication systems, radar and navigation systems, electronic circuits, systems on chip, digital systems and wireless communication networks. These engineers are involved in designing new products, writing requirements for their performance, as well as developing maintenance schedules and charts. Testing equipment and machinery, solving operation problems, estimating time and cost of electrical and electronic products also come under their job procurement
