"Information Technology is one of the fastest progressing areas. It plays a key role in computer, communications and automation applications and is an enabling technology for the innovation of products and services. The study of Information Engineering and Technology enables graduates to master the basic concepts of Information Technology, to design new architectures and to apply them in the various application areas, such as communication systems and networks, production and process automation, automotive and traffic control, or integrated electronic circuit design".

Prof. Dr. Paul J. Kuehn
GUC Founding Dean, Faculty of Information Engineering and Technology

About

IET constitutes the key technology for the scientific and technical progress in many areas of human life. Utilizing the latest developments in electronics, communication, network & AI technologies provide a unique basis for the development of innovative applications in various fields. It is widely acknowledged that an engineering undergraduate education is a strong foundation for a successful career in many disciplines. The faculty has been careful to develop a forward-looking curriculum, taking into account the expertise and technologies required in the job markets of the future. Within the program students can chose between three majors: electronics, communications and Networks.

Programs Offered

Why studying

The study programs offered from the faculty of Information Engineering and Technology (IET) contributes to the GUC’s mission of providing an anchor for international cooperation with German partners and partner universities abroad thus opening new possibilities for knowledge transfer, students’ exchange, making significant contributions to internationally recognized applied research. The curriculums and study program of the IET faculty strive to encompass the full breadth of the spectrum of information and communication technologies from device-level up to the full-scale of information technology building blocks that are integrated to design and implement complete systems. In addition, graduates will have excellent opportunities to pursue their postgraduate studies and research at GUC, in Germany or Europe and worldwide.

Career Opportunities

IET graduates will have solid practical and theoretical knowledge in the fundamentals of Information & Communication technologies and AI with experience focused on either in communications, networking or electronics that will qualify them for a wide range of successful career paths in the industry. Our graduates can work in development and research, design, implementation, testing and verification of electronic circuits and system, semiconductor devices, integrated photonics circuits, embedded systems, wired/wireless telecommunication networks such as 6G and beyond, IoT networks, security engineer, cloud network architects and data scientists.
