Structural Analysis I (CIS 303)

Course Prerequisites

Description

The course aims to present the fundamental analysis methods for statically determinate structures in preparation for other structural analysis courses dealing with indeterminate structures, as well as for the structural design and mechanics courses. It contributes to the knowledge and skills required by the civil engineers in the following topics of engineering science and design: Planar models of structures, loads, and supports; Static equilibrium and support reactions; Analysis of internal design forces for statically determinate structures subjected to dead loads: beams, frames, trusses, and arches; Influence lines for beams and analysis of live loads.
