Faculty of Engineering and Materials Science (EMS) is seeking a highly qualified and motivated candidate to join the Department of Design and Production Engineering program. We invite applications for a full-time academic position in the field of Engineering Design at the rank of Lecturer or Associate Professor, depending on qualifications and experience.
Position Summary:
The successful applicant will contribute to teaching, research, and service activities within the Design and Production Engineering Department, with a specialization in Advanced Mechanical Engineering Design. Applicants are expected to demonstrate strong expertise in modern design methodologies and digital engineering tools, with familiarity in contemporary developments including, but not limited to:
• Advanced CAD/CAE and simulation-driven design
• Product development and digital prototyping
• Design optimization and lightweight structures
• Additive manufacturing and design for manufacturability (DFM)
Qualifications Required:
• A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Mechanical Design or a closely related field from a recognized and reputable university.
• A strong teaching record at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
• Proficiency in modern design and simulation tools CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, NX, ANSYS, Abaqus, etc.), Programming (Python, MATLAB, or similar)
• Ability to develop advanced, technology-oriented learning environments.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research supported by publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
• Experience in funded research projects is an asset.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to academic excellence and innovation in teaching and research.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to classical and advanced mechanical engineering design.
• Supervise student projects and theses.
• Conduct high-quality research and publish in reputable international journals.
• Engage in curriculum development and continuous improvement of teaching materials.
• Contribute to departmental and university service activities.
• Foster partnerships with industry and participate in interdisciplinary research initiatives.
