The German University in Cairo (GUC) proudly celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2026, marking a significant milestone in the journeys of our graduates and celebrating their achievements, dedication, and readiness to make an impact in Egypt, Germany, and beyond.

Held over three inspiring days — October 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 2026, at the GUC — the graduation ceremony brought together graduates, families, faculty members, distinguished guests, and representatives from Egypt and Germany to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2026.

Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mansour, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at GUC, and Prof. Dr. Yasser Hegazy, President of the German University in Cairo, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and congratulated the graduates on reaching this important milestone.

Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mansour highlighted GUC’s growing international academic and research presence, proudly noting that GUC graduates are pursuing postgraduate studies at leading universities worldwide, including Harvard, MIT, and the University of Cambridge. He also emphasized GUC’s strong partnerships with leading German universities, including Ulm, Tübingen, Stuttgart, and Mannheim, reflecting the University’s distinctive German-Egyptian character.

We were deeply honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including:

  1. H.E. Minister Florian Hahn – Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany
  2. H.E. Dr. Maya Morsy – Minister of Social Solidarity
  3. MdB Alexander Radwan – Member of the German Bundestag
  4. Mr. Olav Gutting, MdB – Member of the German Bundestag and Acting Chairman of the Finance Committee

  7. H.E. Dr. Mohamed Awad – CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI)

The presence of distinguished Egyptian and German representatives underscored the strong and longstanding partnership between Egypt and Germany, and GUC’s role as a bridge between the two countries through education, research, and innovation.

Addressing the Class of 2026, Prof. Dr. Yasser Hegazy emphasized that GUC graduates are equipped with the knowledge, discipline, and innovative mindset needed to compete and lead anywhere in the world. He reminded them that graduation marks not an end, but the beginning of a greater responsibility towards their society and nation, describing them as “ambassadors of GUC to the world.”

The ceremony celebrated not only the graduates’ academic accomplishments, but also GUC’s continued commitment to developing students through practical education, research, international collaboration, and engagement with different cultures.

With more than 70 German personalities joining the graduation celebrations, the ceremony further reflected the depth of GUC’s German-Egyptian partnership and its longstanding cooperation with leading German universities and institutions.

Congratulations to our exceptional Class of 2026 graduates — the innovators, professionals, and leaders of tomorrow.

Your achievements fill us with pride, and we look forward to seeing the impact you will make in Egypt, Germany, and around the world.
