The German University in Cairo (GUC) and the German International University (GIU) have announced the launch of a new joint research centre in Germany, established in collaboration with four leading German universities. The initiative marks a significant milestone in advancing scientific research, innovation, and academic cooperation between Egypt and Germany, while further strengthening the German model of higher education and research.

The new research centre is designed to serve as a dynamic platform that brings together researchers, academics, students, and industry partners to collaborate on interdisciplinary research projects addressing global challenges. By combining the academic expertise and research capabilities of both universities with those of their German partners, the centre aims to accelerate scientific discovery, foster innovation, and promote the transfer of knowledge and technology between academia and industry.

The initiative reflects the vision of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mansour, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the German University in Cairo and the German International University, to position the German universities as a bridge connecting Egypt and Germany through education, scientific research, innovation, and international cooperation. Under his leadership, GUC and GIU continue to expand strategic partnerships with distinguished German universities and research institutions, creating new opportunities for joint research, academic exchange, and technological advancement.

The research centre will support collaborative projects across a wide range of disciplines, encouraging interdisciplinary research that responds to emerging scientific and technological developments. It will also provide researchers and students with opportunities to participate in international research networks, exchange expertise, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions with tangible societal and industrial impact.

By strengthening collaboration between universities, research centres, and industry partners, the new centre reinforces the long-standing academic partnership between Egypt and Germany and contributes to developing highly qualified graduates and researchers equipped to compete internationally. It also supports the shared commitment of GUC and GIU to integrating education, research, and innovation while fostering sustainable scientific and technological development.

The launch of the joint research centre represents another important step in the continued expansion of German-Egyptian academic cooperation and reaffirms the commitment of GUC and GIU to promoting excellence in research, advancing innovation, and building lasting partnerships that contribute to scientific progress and economic development in both countries.
