The German University in Cairo organized an intensive legal training program for students of the Faculty of Law and Legal Studies during the academic year 2025–2026, with the participation of a distinguished group of judges and legal experts. The program included ten specialized practical workshops targeting second-, third-, and fourth-year students.

The program was designed to complement the accredited academic curriculum, aiming to enhance students’ practical skills and deepen their legal knowledge by providing opportunities for direct interaction with leading professionals from the judiciary and various legal fields.

The workshops covered a wide range of contemporary topics aligned with current legal developments. The program opened with a session titled “An Overview of the Legal and Regulatory Framework of Cloud Computing,” which addressed the role of law in governing cloud services and their contractual and regulatory aspects. This was followed by a workshop on “Competition Law and the Prevention of Monopolistic Practices,” focusing on the historical development of the law, its relationship with other legislations, and enforcement mechanisms.

Another workshop explored “Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Enhancing Legal and Judicial Work toward Smart Justice and Advanced Legal Practice,” highlighting key AI concepts, tools, and their applications in legal and judicial fields. The program also included a session on “Commercial Contract Disputes,” which examined the jurisdiction of economic courts, the elements of commercial contracts, and common challenges, including brokerage, commission agency, and supply contracts, supported by practical case studies.

In addition, the program addressed “Air Law,” focusing on passenger rights and the international agreements governing this vital sector, reflecting the program’s commitment to equipping students with knowledge that aligns with global legal practices and emerging areas of specialization.

Through this initiative, GUC continues to strengthen its role in bridging academic learning with real-world legal practice, preparing students to meet the evolving demands of the legal profession both locally and internationally.
