On 12 January 2023, the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology at the German University in Cairo organized an exhibition for students of the first academic year. To review their projects consisting of three-dimensional models of medicinal compounds in application of what they studied in the subject of pharmaceutical chemistry, which relies on the study of medicinal compounds, their properties, methods of calibration, and self-determination for the design, manufacture, or development of medicines.
Dr. Nisreen El-Gohary, who supervised on the submitted projects. Indicated that the students were divided into working groups, and they presented 26 projects for models of various drug compounds, indicating the depth of their understanding of the academic curriculum they received for the branch of molecular engineering and its correct applications for the compounds as well as the angles and lengths of the bonds between them.
Separately, a group implemented an experiment to combine a drug used in the treatment of patients with diseases such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, brain and blood tumors, lung and chest pain, stomach pain, and diabetes.
Dr. El-Gohary mentioned that the German University in Cairo's main goal is to provide the local and regional community with highly qualified pharmacists, distinguished professional skills, and ethical values that contribute to the development and creation of pharmaceutical industries capable of achieving drug security through its study programs and applied laboratory research experiments.
