The GUC Reinforces its Academic Global Academic Network

The GUC has participated in the Humboldt Conference “How to Change the World via Science” that was held in Jordan, from 9th till 11th of June 2022.

The conference was hosted by the German Jordanian University, and was sponsored by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Attendees consist of  120 scientists from 24 countries.  It is worth noting that 55 fellows and awardees of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation are Nobel Prize Winners. 

Professor Ashraf Abadi, Head of the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department, and TAs Mirna Victor and Habiba Gamal, from Faculty of Pharmacy, represented the GUC in the conference. Her Royal Highness, Princess Somya bent AL Hassan, President of the Royal Scientific Society and His Excellency Prof. Dr. Wajih Owais, Minister of Higher Education and Research in Jordan inaugurated the conference.

On behalf of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mansour, GUC Chairman of the Board of Trustees, a prominent Humboldt fellow, Prof. Abadi addressed the conferences on the GUC as a model of excellence in higher education and industrial cooperation. Attendees from several countries praised the stand of the GUC, its reputation, infrastructure, as it represents 42% of all the German International education abroad.

In addition, Prof. Abadi, who chaired the session, presented the recent discoveries of medications in the treatment of both erectile dysfunction and improvement of cognitive function.  The two TAs together with other international students attended the Young Scientist workshop “Communication in Science” on how to deliver the scientific content of the work to scientists from different fields of expertise and represented two posters in the conference. 

GUC’s TAs won the first place in the young scientist workshop, reflecting the quality of our staff.
