Two GUC Graduates Won Otto Hahn Medals

GUC alumnus Islam Khalaf, graduate from the Faculty of Engineering in 2017 received the Otto Hahn medal from the Max Planck Society. The same esteemed award was granted to the GUCian Mohamed ElBorlosy graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology 2014. He is currently a Junior Research Fellow in Harvard society of fellows in Cambridge, Massachusetts Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research, Bad Nauheim Forbes magazine 30 under 30

 

Every year since 1978, the Max Planck Society has awarded the Otto Hahn Medal to young researchers for outstanding scientific achievements, mostly in connection with their doctorate. The Medal is endowed with 7,500 euros of prize money. The aim of the award is to motivate particularly talented individuals to pursue a university or research career.
