Ahmed Sabbah graduated from the German University in Cairo, faculty of Media Engineering & Technology, class 2014.

After graduation, Ahmed worked within the academic field as a teaching assistant at the German University in Cairo for one year after which he decided to enter the Entrepreneurial scene and founded his first company, then in 2017 Ahmed cooperated with Mostafa Kandil and Mahmoud Nouh and the three Co-founded a new startup named SWVL which eventually turned to be one of Egypt’s leading ride-sharing companies.

SWVL is a leading high technology company on the mass transportation market, it is an Egyptian bus vehicle for hire, ride-sharing company with operations in three countries: Egypt, Pakistan, and Kenya covering four major cities; Cairo, Alexandria, Lahore, and Nairobi.

It all started by a walk, a walk that turned into an idea upon the realization of the amount of cars on each street, spitting waste all over our environment and consuming the limited time and space we have.

Swvl is a revolutionary idea that was born from passion, loyalty and persistence to face all challenges on the table, Swvl is not just a mean to facilitate commuting, but a hunger to strive for solutions, encourage the contribution of youth in innovation and inspire change.

In 2018, the three founders were listed in Forbes 30 under 30 – Middle East under the category of Consumer Technology.
