Mohamed Ahmed Abdallah Mohamed Elbrolosy

Mohamed Elborolosy got his bachelor degree in Pharmacy and Biotechnology from the German University in Cairo in year 2014.

Elbrolosy has been listed in Forbes 30 under 30, Europe list in the category of Science & Healthcare in 2020 lists for his researches on genetic compensation and how organisms adapt to mutations. He is the author of numerous highly cited papers on the subject in journals including Nature and PLoS genetics, he is currently completing his PhD, and will join the Society of Fellows at Harvard.

Mohamed is now a Ph.D. student at the Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research in Bad Nauheim, Germany.  His research focuses on understanding how cells and organisms adapt to mutations.  He also served as the general secretary and deputy spokesperson of the PhD. students' network Max Planck PhDnet as well as a board member of the bigger network: N2. Consequently, he has worked on topics like doctoral researchers working conditions, conflict management, mental health and science communication.

As an advocate for open access, in 2018, he was in the organizing committee of Open Con 2018 conference, served as an advisory board member of open access week 2019, and founded the Max Planck PhDnet open science-working group. Elborolosy is also interested in “climate justice” and therefore has initiated a movement to make it a more sustainable topic.
