GUC teams won the 1st & 2nd place in L'Oréal Brand Storm Local Competition 2020

GUC teams won the first and second places in L'Oréal Brand Storm Local Competition 2020, which was held for the fifth year in a row, with the participation of many Egyptian public and private universities.

In the light of Coronavirus epidemic. The competition was held this year Online. The "Vertalistic" team consisting of "Carol Majed at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology, Shams Al-Din Abdul Hamid and Miral Basem at the College of Management Technology" came in the first place, and the "Cosma Boss" team came in the second place. Consisting of "Menna Kamel, Hadeel Arafa, and Alia Hamza" at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology, and according to this victory the winning team will be qualified  for the first place to represent Egypt in the finals that will be held in Paris Online among more than 60 countries at the end of this month. The winning team in the finals has a 3-month practical opportunity at the company’s branch in Paris to implement the idea which has been presented during the competition.

 

The local competition included 185 competing teams, among them 45 came from the German University in Vairo- GUC, where each team consists of 3 students, and its slogan was "Building a sustainable future without plastic in the cosmetic industry" due to the increased negative impact of plastic waste on the environment, and the participating teams competed to find innovative solutions that reduce or remove the use of plastics from the company's product packages to make them more sustainable, which contributes to behavioral changes among its consumers that have a positive impact on the environment.

This is not the first time for GUC students to make us all proud, back in 2018, our team ‘KISS’ has won the national competition and competed with all the national winning teams in Paris and was ranked 2nd globally!!
