The German University in Cairo (GUC) and the German International University (GIU), jointly organized; the 2nd International Conference Smart Cities 4.0, during 22-24 October 2023; The conference was organized in partnership with University of Stuttgart, Germany, and the Housing and Building National Research Center, Egypt. The conference follows a successful “ The 1st Joint International Conference” held by GUC in December 2019.
Smart Cities 4.0 Conference presented an open forum for researchers and stakeholders, engineers, scientists and industry professional from various areas of Civil, Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Economy, Business, and Law. Conference activities will include technical sessions, workshops, and keynote lectures in three main tracks: Design and Construction of Smart Cities, ICT Frontiers and Innovations for Smart Cities, and Business, Economy and Legislation for Smart Cities.
Smart Cities 4.0 Conference was privileged by 9 keynote speakers from; Germany, Switzerland, United States, and Egypt. More than 105 technical papers were presented by authors from over 16 countries, within 28 technical sessions, during the three days of the conference.
The conference was preceded a day earlier by 6 workshops on; Geotechnical Forensics & Ground Improvement , 3D laser scanning Geoinformatics & Reality Capture, Non- Destructive Structure Testing, Cloud Computing & Big Data, Optical Sensors & Robotics Automation, and Cooperative Autonomous Vehicles. A panel discussion was held during the conference addressing Quality of Life in Smart Cities.
