The German University in Cairo hosts the African Media Delegation Representing 23 African Countries

On 22nd of January 2020, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mansour, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the German University in Cairo hosted the top African Media Delegation representing 23 African countries from newspapers editors, television and radio presenters within the framework agreement of the "African Media and Cooperation" program organized by the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development (EAPD).

The visit comes in line with the strategy of the German University in Cairo and its new international applied sister GIU AS (German International University of Applied Sciences) in the administrative capital as they both represent the German Education System in Egypt.

The idea of ​​establishing a German Applied University in the new administrative capital came to meet the needs of the rich African countries with natural resources, which led the three parties Germany - Egypt - Africa to discuss together ways to make good use of them using the latest modern technology provided by Germany and Egypt and take measures to sustainable development in Africa and paid support to open good economic prospects to increase the size of its investments.

It is worth mentioning that the relationship between the three parties is not a result of the moment, but rather extends over many years. AS the German University in Cairo represents 42% of the total amount of German students and graduates studied in a German university outside German borders, besides its pivotal role since its inception in transferring German technology and localizing it on its campus and then transferring it through the Egyptian gateway to the Africa and that the university is ready to extend to cooperate in many fields of education, scientific research, providing economic, industrial and technological solutions, training similar to its experience that have accomplished in training senior and middle youth leadership leaders in several governorates in Egypt and qualifying teachers of public and experimental schools, etc. Technical know-how, as a contribution to preparing and presenting future builders' leaders.

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Mansour paid tribute to Ambassador Mahmoud Al-Maghraby, Secretary-General of the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who organized this distinguished program, expressing his happiness with his presence with media representatives who represent the conscience of nations and the means of communication between peoples, and Mr. Hisham Al-Mawqood, Minister Delegate to the Agency who accompanied Visiting delegation.

The delegation made an inspection tour on the university’s campus, accompanied by Eng. Abdel-Fattah Mansour, Vice-President of the University’s Board of Trustees, which included GUC  industrial Park that includes 10 companies from the German international industry mothers and the Africa Tech Center GUC-DMG MORI that serves the Egyptian state’s orientation towards the African continent and the GUC  Solar City, which is the center of research excellence, is the largest and most pluralistic in the world for renewable energy solutions and hybrid systems.
