GUC in ACM ICPC World Finals , China 2018

Two GUC teams confirmed their place in the ACM ICPC World Finals in Beijing, China 2018. The two GUC teams marked a great achievement  in both ACM Egyptian Collegiate Programming Contest (ECPC) and ACM Arab Collegiate Programming Contests (ACPC) that took place in November 2017.

In the ECPC, GUC achieved 1st (Champion),  6th (Silver-medalist), 12th, 13th, 17th places. Those five teams qualified to the regional contest (ACPC). The five GUC teams coached by Prof. Dr. Slim Abdennadher were in the top thirty achieving a gold medal (2nd place) with the team "Legend Mode Activated". This team consisted of  Ahmed Elsagheer, Omar Yasser, Ahmed Kamel. A silver medal (6th place) was awarded to  the team "Al Almaneya L Ebadet El Bugs" . This GUC team consisted of Omar Kharouba, Ahmed Abdelzaher and Mina Amir. On exceptional base, The ACM ICPC Executive Director Bill Poucher invited  "Al Almaneya L Ebadet El Bugs" to join in the next world finals as a result of their unique performance during the competition.

Last year GUC Teams won  the "Champion of Africa and the Middle East" title in 2017 ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals, South Dakota, U.S.A.
