Africa & Middle East Champions
The GUC team (Mohamed Abdel-Fattah, Abdallah El Guindy and Eslam Khalaf, with their coach Prof. Dr. Slim Abdennadher) competed in the ACM ICPC World Finals 2009 in Stockholm and the GUC team is Africa and Middle East Champion 2009.

Cross of Merit for GUC Founder
Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mansour, the prime founder and the chairman of the board of trustees of the German University in Cairo, is awarded end of October 2008 the Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. He receives this honor particularly for his achievements in connection with the GUC.
