The students’ curriculum committee was established in the faculty of pharmacy and biotechnology in 2010 aiming at opening a communication channel between the faculty and the students and enhancing the educational process. To date the curriculum committee has contributed to enhancements in our curricula and ensured smooth running of the past academic years. Currently we have 109 students actively participating in the students’ curriculum committee in the faculty of pharmacy and biotechnology.

The Volunteer junior TAs (VJTAs) program was established in the faculty of pharmacy and biotechnology in 2013. This program allows students interested in academia and research to participate as junior TAs in the running labs. The aim of this program is to provide students with lab and teaching experience and to support the students who are willing to pursue an academic career after graduation. This current semester we had a huge number of applicants and we were gladly able to offer places for approximately 120 students.

On 26 May 2019 the faculty of pharmacy and biotechnology arranged a ceremony for the curriculum committee students and Volunteer junior TAs (VJTAs)  for winter 2018/spring 2019. The event was in the presence of the dean of the faculty, Prof. Mohamed El-Azizi, vice dean for student affairs Prof. Sahar Abdel-Maksoud, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rasha Hanafi, VJTAs  program coordinator and Assoc. Prof. Reham Abdel-Kader, head of students curriculum committee and  VJTAs  program coordinator. During the event the students were thanked for their great efforts and contributions during the semester and were handed out certificates of appreciation for their great work.
