Admission Requirements

According to German University in Cairo mission, the university seeks to attract candidates with strong potential for managerial development. Admission to the MBA in Media Management program is competitive and rests on the following criteria:

  • Bachelor degree with a minimum overall grade of “good”.

  • English language proficiency as measured by the German University in Cairo English language admission test or the TOEFL with a minimum score of 550.

  • Satisfactory performance in a personal interview.

Admission Steps

The German University in Cairo admits MBA students three times a year; winter (admission in May– the semester starts in October), spring semester (admission in November – the semester starts in February) and summer semester (admission in February- the semester starts in July). The admission procedures are as follows:

  1. Applicants complete online application at

  2. Applicants that fulfill the overall grade in the undergraduate degree requirement will be invited via e-mail to take the GUC MBA English admission test (those with a TOEFL score of 550 or higher need not take the test).

  3. Applicants that pass the English test will be invited via e-mail to an interview at the GUC campus.

  4. Interviewed applicants will be ranked according to their undergraduate overall grade and performance on the interview. The final selection decision rests on the applicant’s ranking.

  5. Applicants who are accepted will be invited to attend an orientation session. Applicants not accepted may reapply in future semesters.

The applicants must bring all documents mentioned below:

  • Curriculum vitae

  • Certified copy of university transcript (with grades of each subject)

  • Two passport-sized photos

  • 2 letters of recommendation (references – see application form)

  • Original birth certificate (computerized accepted)

  • Copy (front & back) of the National ID Card/ or passport for non Egyptian students

  • Military status for male applicants

  • Visa for non Egyptians

Applicants not accepted may reapply in future semesters.
