The German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder accepted President Hosni Mubarak invitation to visit Egypt to attend the opening ceremony of the German University in Cairo (GUC) on October 5th 2003.

The ceremony will be also attended by Mrs. Suzan Mubarak, Prime Minister Teufel-Prime Minister of the State of Baden Wuertemberg and Mr. Martin Kobler, the German Ambassador in Cairo, in addition to a number of Egyptian and German ministers, EU & Arab Ambassadors as well as a number of VIPs from Egypt, Germany and Arab countries.

During Presidents Mubarak visit to Germany, where the opening of the GUC was discussed, Mrs. Suzan Mubarak was honored and awarded a golden medal by the Berlin University for her continued efforts regarding various activities aiming towards society development.
