| Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mansour, chairman of the Board of Trustees
declared that a number of important meetings and visits took place within
the frame work of the delegation visit with the aim of strengthening the
joint cooperation between the University and the State- and industry-men.
The GUC study courses will concentrate on the fields of technology, the
matter which will have its effects on the development of the industry
and economy through qualifying and training of GUC students at a high
level of scientific expertise and practical training. |

| Meetings of the German delegation to the German University
in Cairo with industry and economy people: |
| |
| The methods of joint cooperation between industry
people and GUC have been discussed in an extended seminar, which
had been held at one of the 5-stars hotels in cooperation with the
German-Arab Chamber of Industry & Commerce and the German University
in Cairo. |

Almost 40 participants from among the big industry
and economy people in Egypt took part in this seminar. |
| Dr. Peter Göpfrich, Chief Executive Officer of
the German-Arab Chamber of Industry & Commerce pointed to the
importance of these meetings, which will aim by turn to strengthen
and confirm the mutual understanding and cooperation between the
industry and economy people on the one part and the education people
on the other part, |

the matter which will have its effects in directing
the curricula to concentrate on the practical sides and invention
according to the economic and industrial atmosphere of the State.
This will result in increasing work opportunities for the Egyptian
manpower and in limiting the dependence on foreign manpower. |

Visit of the German Delegation to Mercedes Factory in the
6th of October City: |

| The German delegation
has been invited by Mr. Gamal Okeil, the General Manager of Messrs.
Daimler Chrysler in Egypt to visit Mercedes cars manufacturing factory.
The German delegation of the University professors and the German
public figures appreciated the efficiency of the Egyptian engineer
and worker. Mr. Michael Bahlke, the factory's manager explained
to the German delegation. |

The German delegation visited together
with a number of founders the site of the German University in Cairo.
They expressed their appreciation regarding the efforts undertaken
to finish the first phase of GUC, which will be inaugurated in next
October. |

| The German Ambassador invitation to a Business Dinner in
honour of the German delegation: |

| As a welcome event for the German
delegation to GUC, H. E. Baron von Maltzahn, Ambassador of Germany
to Egypt has invited the Friends Group of the German University
in Cairo to a dinner on last Sunday, 20.10.2002. |

The members of the delegation introduced
themselves as well as the GUC faculties. About 150 guests of the
big state and economy people, public figures and a part of the German
colony in Egypt attended this gathering. |
| They asked several questions regarding GUC. The teaching
staff under the presidency of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Hashem Abdel-Kader,
GUC President and Professor Dr. Weitkamp, Vice President for Academic
Affairs answered these questions. |

| First Meeting of Board of Trustees: |
| |
| GUC Board of Trustees held its periodical meeting
on Monday, 21.10.2002, which was attended by members of the board
and a number of founders elected by the Founding Committee. Prof.
Dr. Ashraf Mansour. |
|
 |
President of the Board of Trustees welcomed the members
and reported to them the progress achieved till date at all levels
in detail. |
Those achievements were highly appreciated. The performance
plan for the coming stage has been agreed upon.
The next Board of Trustees meeting will be in January 2003. |
