Bonn im Spiegel

After leaving the train which took me from Frankfurt Airport to my destination, Bonn, I started my visit by walking from Bonn Hauptbahnhof (main train station) into the Poppelsdorfer Allee. I was excited. What would happen next?

The help of the extremely friendly International Office of Bonn University, and the very detailed schedule given to us from the first day, added to the success of this wonderful summer course. We had a lot of excursions to Köln, Düsseldorf, Heidelberg, Mayschoß; and my favourite ones were those to Trier, Burg Eltz, and the boat excursion in the river Rhein. In Bonn, you can also visit the “Botanischer Garten”, “Haus der Geschichte” (Museum of German History), “Beethoven-Haus”, Waldau (a big forest), and the Rheinaue.

On this trip, I really loved the Rhein, that river I walked by in Bonn, Köln and Düsseldorf. With a lot of happy green hills and forests on both sides, one can walk there with his friends forever without being tired. The Rheinaue, an extremely big park on the Rhein which has a lot of attractions, is a very interesting place for spending your weekend there. There are live concerts, play yards, the biggest mobile labyrinth and a lot of people!

The 200 students of the summer course, who were excited about making friends and keen on enjoying their trip, made the time really wonderful. Now I have friends all over the world.

By the end of August, I could not believe that I did that all in addition to a workshop and a 64-hour course within one month. An unbelievably amazing summer for me!
