International Summer School of Ingolstadt 2006

Between July and August, the Catholic University of Ingolstadt offered several summer courses for both German and international students. Many students from Korea, Denmark, Ecuador, Brazil, Italy, Mexico participated and of course not to forget the 21 GUCians from 5th and 7th semester in Management?.

We attended courses such as Positive Psychology, Services Marketing, Corporate Governance, Game theory, and Market entry strategies. The course material in every subject was very interesting and we gained an insight into one of the best universities in Germany. The students had to work on several assignments, case studies, quizzes, and a final exam. It was much work but still we gave our best, worked hard to achieve good results – and we did.

Every week the university offered several programs, such as a barbecue at the campus where we got to know most of the summer school students. There also was a wonderful tour through Ingolstadt, trips to Munich, the Castle of Neuschwanstein, the Audi forum, etc. And none of us was ever bored over there! I think if you asked anyone of us what they liked best, you will either hear: Audi Forum, shopping *lol*, or the Robbie Williams concert – some of us attended the concert in Munich, though it was sold out and the ticket cost 100€! You want to know how? We went to a park and sat on a hill – for free of course - and from there you had a wonderful view on the stadium where the concert took place. Great, isn’t it?

Though I have been living for a very long time in Germany, I have never been to Bavaria before – and I must admit: I fell in love with it! And that’s not only true for me, many of the GUCians really loved the city. Ingolstadt is such a beautiful city – though it is not as big as Munich or Nürnberg, but it is still very lovely! The people are very, very friendly, always smiling, and it can easily happen that elder people just start chitchatting with you without even knowing you!

Time passed by very fast, and all of us were more than sad about that. We exchanged e-mail addresses with a lot of students there – both German students and the international students and we are still in contact with all of them. I am sure that many of us will go to Ingolstadt again and meet the wonderful friends we have over there.

For those who are interested in participating in such courses in Ingolstadt, you should check out the website http://www.ku-eichstaett.de/en - the courses are offered annually between July and August. You will not regret going there!

Last but not least, best regards to Professor Kiehling, who made it possible for us to participate in the courses at the University of Ingolstadt. Thank you very much!
