GUC Presents Heli-Mag Research Project at Hannover Messe 2016, 25 - 29 April

This year the GUC participates in the Hannover Messe for the first time with two teams’ projects.


The Hannover Messe (HM; English: Hanover Fair) is the world's biggest industrial fair. It is held on the Hanover fairground in Hanover, Germany. Typically, there are about 6,500 exhibitors and 250,000 visitors. This year the opening will be attended by President Barack Obama and Chancellor Angela Merkel.


The first project is the HeliMag presented by the MNR Lab (Medical Micro and Nano Robotics Lab) of GUC and the second is GUC Smart Campus. The MNR Lab at the German University in Cairo – headed by Dr. Islam Shoukry - applies integrated research by a team of students, teaching assistants and academics from the Faculties of Mechatronics and Pharmacy in collaboration with many researchers worldwide.


HeliMag ia a Robotic System for Clearing Blood Clots. It is an electromagnetic c-based robotic system that allows for the motion control of helical micro robotics in three dimensional (3D space). HeliMag is used in targeted drug delivery and clearing clogged blood vessels in vito.
