Taking advantage of being located in the heart of the Arab world in the bustling, historical and welcoming city of Cairo, the GUC is launching a new Arabic Language Program for foreign students.

Students will have the unique opportunity to gain more insight to the Egyptian culture and history. Conducting the classes on GUC premises in Cairo will enable the students not only to use all GUC’s facilities, services and infrastructure but also to get in contact with thousands fellow GUCians on daily basis.

The GUC qualified native speakers will make sure to create an international classroom spirit combining teaching with cultural activities to enhance the students’ language skills as well as promoting their intercultural competences. All courses are based on the Communicative Approach to language learning in the sense that all learners are provided with activities that will help them perform functions that native speakers of the target language perform in their appropriate cultural contexts.

The offered courses are mainly from level A1 - C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Special courses are offered upon availability for homogenous groups if the syllabus of their university curriculum requires certain specialized Arabic courses. Students can transfer the GUC Arabic courses, if they are an integrated part of their study program in their home universities.

Teaching methods are based on interactive language practice, and are supported by various media including audio, video/DVD and computer software.

All classes will begin with an orientation session and a welcome party to familiarize those who are for the first time in Egypt with the country and assist them in every needed aspect.
